My Day in Alexandria, LA
After I gathered some ideas from the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, I was ready to get the most out of my day in Alexandria, LA. As an animal lover, I knew exactly where I had to start.
With more than 500 animals, the Alexandria Zoological Park is like a wildlife extravaganza sitting on a breathtaking piece of land spanning 33 acres. I learned that this zoo has been operating since 1926. Never did I imagine I would have an opportunity to visit a zoo with so much history and so many types of animals.
After getting my animal fix out of the way, I realized that this city is full of businesses rooted in the history of the area. I made my way over to the Alexandria Museum of Art. This museum is in a building that used to house a bank and was originally built in 1898. The art was inspirational. In fact, it was so inspirational that I was able to convince myself to take an art class offered at the museum.
As I walked the streets of Alexandria, I stepped inside other museums and shops while learning a little about the deep history of the city. With so much education and entertainment to offer, I made up my mind to stay in Alexandria another day.
